Total Time: 55 mins
Servings: 2
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger root
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 (5-ounce) salmon fillets
Instructions
- Marinate: In a shallow container with a tight-fitting lid, combine the soy sauce, maple syrup, garlic, ginger, pepper, and salt. Place the salmon flesh-side down in the marinade, turning to coat both sides. Seal and refrigerate for 30 minutes (reserve a little marinade in a separate bowl for basting, if desired).
- Preheat: Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat and lightly oil the grate. Once hot, turn one side of the grill down to low heat.
- Grill: Place the salmon skin-side down over the low-heat side of the grill and close the lid. Cook for about 20 minutes, basting once with the reserved marinade, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
- Serve: Slide a spatula between the salmon and the skin to lift it cleanly from the grill.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
