Total Time: 40 mins

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 pound broccoli, cut into thick slices
  • 1-2 lemons, sliced into 1/2-inch thick circles
  • 1/4 cup vegetable or olive oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (or herbs of choice)
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, or 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, or more to taste
  • black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup grated fresh parmesan

Instructions

  • Blanch (Optional): If you prefer more tender broccoli, bring a large pot of water to a boil. Quickly blanch the broccoli slices for about 1 minute. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking, then blot dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  • Preheat: Preheat your grill to medium-high to high heat. Scrape the grill grates to make sure they are clean.
  • Whisk: In a bowl, whisk together the oil, Worcestershire sauce, thyme (or other dried herbs), onion powder, and garlic powder (or minced garlic).
  • Marinate: Lay the broccoli and lemon slices on a baking sheet or large plate. Brush the marinade over all sides of the broccoli and lemon. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Grill: Place the marinated broccoli and lemon slices on the grill. Cook for about 2–4 minutes per side, or until nicely charred with crispy edges.
  • Serve: Transfer the broccoli to a platter and top with Parmesan. Serve with the grilled lemon slices for squeezing over the broccoli.
  • Serve and Enjoy!
