WINTER GRILL STORAGE GUIDE
Step 1 | Clean Your Grill
- Deep clean your grill grates
- Protect grill grates from rust by coating them in high heat oil
- Empty your grease cup, if your grill has one
- Remove ignition battery from your electric starter, if your grill has one
Step 2 | Get Your Grill Storage Ready
- Properly winterize your grill to protect it from pests
- Clean and wrap any venturi and tube burner in plastic to keep insects out
- Check control knobs, the coupling nut of your regulator, underneath grates and drip pans for pests
- Inspect your grill for any damage, cracks, or broken parts. Replace them now, so you can get to grilling faster in the spring
- Protect your grill from the elements and pests with a properly sized grill cover
Step 3 | Grill Storage
- Store your grill in a cool, dry place. Shelter is from rain or snow if possible
- Make sure to disconnect and remove propane tank
- If you store your grill in your garage or shed, make sure to leave the propane tank outside! The propane tank can withstand temperatures of -50°F
- Check on your grill throughout the winter to make sure no pests have moved in
